Imagine a project that is done entirely with robots!
It should be fun. However, that won’t happen in reality anytime soon. Until then, we have to take care of human resources, and all the complexity that comes with it.

The other thing we need to plan is human resources. For example, do we need to have training for team members? How would you motivate people? Is it a good idea to have a recognition and reward system?
Speaking of rewards, let’s say we’re in the middle of a project. A senior expert has done a great job in the past eight months, and you want to reward her. So, you give her a bonus of $300.

What happens? You’ve probably demotivated and offended her. You’d be better off not rewarding her like that. Instead, imagine you’ve noticed that she’s not comfortable behind her desk, and you spend $300 to buy her a better chair. You give her the chair and say, “Ellen, I’m really happy to have you on the project and appreciate everything you’re doing. By the way, I’ve noticed that you’re not happy with your chair, so I bought you another. Let me know if you like it.”

Human aspects are complex, and they are not part of the PMBOK Guide. There are many resources you can use for that. As far as PMBOK Guide is concerned, you need to plan for all of these. For example, where does the money for that $300 chair purchase come from in the budget?
